Who can be a diplomat?
Our Response: everyone!

Economic diplomacy is defined as the actions of both state and non-state actors aimed at promoting cross-border trade and sustainable finance through negotiation, communication and representation.
The Institute engages with international organisations (UN, IMF, WBG, OECD events) and non-state actors to advocate for sustainable policies and solutions that prioritize global financial stability, and economic growth while reducing pressures on the environment and taking into account social aspects.

Economic Diplomacy Division is designed to enhance economic diplomacy research and provide the bridge between academic professorship, public diplomacy practitioners, civil society, and the business world.
It consists of more than 40 Doctor/Ph.D. members and Professionals in the field.  That provides us coverage of the full spectrum of economic diplomacy issues.
We aim to provide research, analysis, and policy recommendations to businesses and NGOs on challenges in the field of economic diplomacy.
We push our efforts in building the tools, and educational resources to support the economic diplomacy stakeholders and ensure that they have the training and resources needed to work at the intersection of globalization and business environments around the globe.
Our mission is to identify barriers to economic opportunity and develop scalable solutions that will empower people throughout the world to rise out of poverty and achieve better life outcomes.
Our members are invited to hold wide consultations and develop jointly the strategy for Economic Diplomacy.
The Division brings together a broad network of economic diplomats contributing to the achievement of economic justice for all. It ensures that public diplomats are recognized and heard in promoting an inclusive economy as a basic human right, accessible to all, improving and supporting transparency in the economy through public diplomacy tools and in designing, implementing and measuring results of relevant policies everywhere.
Under the umbrella of the Division, cooperation among its members will be strengthened, reinforcing the expertise and vision of each of the members to add value and support the work of relevant international organizations.
The  Division encourages its members in playing a key role towards the achievement of the SDGs through the use of diplomatic skills and cooperation with both public and private sectors,  with an agenda of promoting trade as a human right.
Global economic goals such as Sustainable Development Goals cannot be achieved without cooperation, coordination, and collaboration across sectors and among diverse, non-state actors in the areas of economic development who are increasingly influencing international policy, funding structures, and the proliferation of services and initiatives.
In addition to state-to-state diplomacy as interactions between representatives of sovereign states, we have developed:
people-to-state diplomacy,
people-to-international organisations diplomacy, and
people-to-people diplomacy.
It is now possible for large numbers of people to participate in sustained and decentralized communication with each other, governments and international organisations.
